Condemnation of Animal Slaughter in
Parliamentary Dining – A Global Moral Stand
by VSJP
On 27 May 2025, the Vishwa Shanti Janata Party (VSJP), under the leadership of Aaryan Narasimhan Radhakrishnan, officially submitted a global resolution to the National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC), condemning the legalized slaughter of animals served in Indian Parliamentary and Legislative dining halls.
Resolution Number: VSJP/INT/PEACE-006/2025
Date of Submission: 27 May 2025
NHRC Diary Numbers:
11962/IN/2025 & 11963/IN/2025
Core Concern:
Government-subsidized canteens within India’s Parliament are serving meat obtained by killing living beings — including goats, chickens, and fish. This practice:
- Violates Article 48A of the Indian Constitution (Protection of Environment)
- Violates Article 51A(g) (Fundamental duty to show compassion to all living creatures)
- Violates the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (Section 11)
It is deeply unethical for lawmakers to create laws while simultaneously consuming beings that were killed under public subsidy. This contradiction strikes at the root of India’s moral fabric and spiritual values.
VSJP Urges All Governments To:
1. Immediately ban the serving of meat in official government dining facilities.
2. Recognize this act as a moral and constitutional violation.
3. Transition all official institutions toward non-violent, plant-based food systems.
4. Uphold the principles of Ahimsa (non-violence) in both policy and practice.
Let it be known:
This is not food. This is the remains of a silenced life.
